GMC Canyon AT4 gets an Off-Road Performance Edition Package for 2021 model year
GMC offers 2021 Canyon AT4 with an Off-Road Performance Edition Package. The mid-size pickup truck received more than a few cosmetic upgrades, including a dedicated off-road suspension amongst others.
The other add-ons in the off-road package for AT4 include 17-inch wheels which get a 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires. The cosmetic upgrades of the vehicle include a larger front grille, a skid plate, red tow hooks alongside a rear electronic locking limited-slip differential.
On the inside, the new package enhances the interior bits by including AT4 badges embroidered on the headrests. The furnishing of the vehicle is covered in open-pore ash wood and aluminum trim. Users also get heated and cooled front seats in addition to a heated steering wheel as standard.
Interestingly, the off-road performance package also features a new, dark, Cocoa color scheme as optional.
While the package adds a bold appeal to the exterior and the interior of the vehicle, the powertrain of the truck remains untouched with a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine, generating a maximum output of 308 hp and producing a peak torque of up to 373 Nm. The V6 engine comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
However, GM also offers its Canyon AT4 with an optional powertrain configuration with a Duramax 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine that generates a total output of 181 hp, comparatively less than its V6 sibling, but offers increased torque of up to 500 Nm. The transmission for the 2.8-liter diesel engine is handled by six-speed automatic.
Lastly, no comments are available on the pricing of the car, but as per the news from GM Authority, production should start in June or July.
