Cadillac announces pricing details of its new 2020 CT5
Cadillac, a luxury car division of American auto manufacturer GM, has announced the prices for the 2020 CT5. It is a new nameplate and replaces the CTS. The price starts with $37,890 for the base variant and subsequently increases for higher trims.
The entry-level CT5 costs less than the base Audi A4. Also, it undercuts both the 2019 BMW 3 Series and Lexus IS by $2,305 and $1,695, respectively. Moreover, the CT5 is also less expensive than the current CTS and ATS base models. The cheapest CT5 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that pushes a maximum power of 237 hp along with a peak torque of 258 lb-ft. It gets a rear-wheel-drive system as standard but one can also opt for the all-wheel-drive layout against an extra sum of $2,600.
Going with the price, the second trim in the line is the Premium Luxury, which hauls a starting price tag of $41,690. The variant offers wood interior and warm maple sugar leather that gives a premium feel. This is followed by a bit more expensive Sport models, which is priced from $42,690 and get an industrial-looking cabin. Also, to have an all-wheel-drive system in the Sports trims will cost you the same as that of the base variants. However, the figure scale to $3,090 in case you want to steer all the wheels in the Premium Luxury trim.
Apart from the aforementioned three trims, the CT5 also has another engine variant, which is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 mill. The pricing of this is yet to be announced by the company, however, we can contend ourselves with the power output figures. The machine churns out a maximum power of 335 hp and delivers a peak torque of 400 lb-ft and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
