Acura revealed handcrafted 2020 MDX PMC Edition price

The handcrafted flagship SUV from Acura, the MDX PMC Edition is gearing up to hit the showroom floors. The car features an A-Spec sport appearance package alongside a sporty makeover.

Previously unveiled for the first time as a prototype at the 2019 New York Auto Show, the MDX PMC prototype was also showcased in production form at the L.A. Auto Show. The vehicle comes at a price tag of $63,745, which includes a destination fee of $1,995.

The PMC stands for Performance Manufacturing Center which is the name for Acura's center in Marysville.

The total units of the car are limited to 300 for the buyers in the U.S., while another 30 units will be available for sale in Canada. The PMC Edition is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine, generating a maximum output of 290 hp, similar to every non-hybrid model produced by Acura. The V6 engine comes mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, directing the power to the four-wheel-drive through Acura's SH-AWD system.

Interestingly, the MDX PMC Edition gets a set of 20-inch wheels finished in black and Valencia red pearl paint job. The color features Acura's nano pigment paint technology, which adds to the glossiness of the exterior wrap.

The other exterior features which can be seen with the black chrome treatment are the roof, mirrors, door handles, the exhaust tips and the grille which sports a body-color grille surround.

Inside, the seats of the car get Milano leather stitching in red throughout the cockpit along with a special badging which identifies the specific vehicle production number out of the 330 units. Additionally, the interior also flaunts real metal paddle shifters for the driver, including heated and ventilated front seats, adaptive dampers, and ELS Studio premium audio amongst others.

Lastly, at the price tag of $63,745, the car carries more features than a standard MDX along with the royalty of having a hand-built car. The vehicle is set to arrive at Acura dealerships from February 1.
