2022 Fisker Ocean SUV unveiled, comes with a solar roof

The Ocean SUV by Fisker was recently unveiled at the 2020 Consumer Electric Show. The vehicle was first teased by chairman and CEO, Henrik Fisker, and now set to hit the showrooms for sale in late 2021 in the USA. The SUV launch in Europe and China is expected to happen in 2022.

The CEO has also revealed some new details about the electric SUV in a press release, which uncovers the interior of the Fisker Ocean. The automaker takes a simplistic approach to the smartly-designed interior of the cabin to match rivals like the Tesla Model Y and Ford Mustang Mach-E

On the inside, the car is said to sport a large touchscreen (no official measurements yet) at the front and center accompanied by a smaller screen behind the steering wheel, to act as the digital instrument cluster. The car also features two wireless chargers and a head-up display, the function of which is to display music, lyrics while a song is playing, as per statements by the company.

The Fisker Ocean comes with an 80 kWh battery and is said to cover a range of 480 kilometers on a single charge. Although there are no official figures in the exact power and torque outputs of the car, the company says that the vehicle can reach a speed of 0-100 km per hour in about three seconds. Moreover, buyers will get the option to choose between two-wheel and all-wheel-drive variants.

Fisker Inc. also claims about making the Ocean as the world’s most sustainable vehicle, with a class apart solar roof on the top, to add on to the total mileage of the car. The car is also said to feature a fully recycled carpeting, created from abandoned fishing net waste. The company also added, “Eco-sustainability, as well as the lowest levels of polluting emissions and energy consumption, are guaranteed throughout the whole production cycle.”

The Fisker Ocean price in USA starts at $37,499. However, it drops to $29,999 with tax deduction credits. The bookings for the car have begun, and the interested buyers can book the vehicle for a token amount of $250, which is refundable. The automaker will also offer subscription plans for the Ocean electric SUV.
