From the exterior, the GV80 looks almost like the concept car, which was revealed at the NY Auto Show. The vehicle represents the traditional shape of an SUV and retains the concept's upswept window line and large D-pillar. The front end of the car represents the company's signature Genesis grille, similar to the one on the redesigned G90. The production GV80 sports marker lights on its fenders continue the design of the headlights, just like the new G90.

Although no official specifications have been revealed on the powertrain of the car, the 2021 Genesis GV80 is set to carry similar underpinnings as the new Genesis G80 sedan. The vehicle will be available in both rear or all-wheel-drive option. The engine can also be assumed to be adapted from the G80, which features a 3.8-liter V6 as along with a twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6 trim. The upcoming vehicle is also said to feature a 5.0-liter V8 option, to reach a wider audience.

The fanbase of Genesis expects a long list of driver-assist features that include automated emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control. Moreover, rumor suggests that GV80 will feature a semi-autonomous driving mode.

GV80 will be offered with three rows of seats, and its global launch is programmed to take place later in 2020. The car is set to hit the markets of South Korea after its full reveal premiere later this month.
