2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel pricing revealed
The Ram 1500 EcoDiesel V6 enters its third generation and makes its appearance for 2020. It leads the half-ton diesel segment in both torque figures (650 Newton-meters) and towing capacity (5,697 kilograms). The 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel makes significant enhancements in price, too. The truck now starts at $36,890, excluding $1,695 for destination.
Ram presents the most affordable pickup in the segment as compared to the diesel-powered customer trucks such as Chevrolet Silverado and the Ford F-150. The 1500 EcoDiesel cuts the fight by thousands, thanks to the availability of the diesel engine throughout the complete range, rather than staying committed to higher trims.
Other models like the Big Horn, Tradesman, Laramie and even the off-road-focused Rebel ask for a $3,300 additional cost for the diesel option. However, one can also purchase a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic with diesel for just $39,140.
"The Ram 1500 EcoDiesel offers the best torque and towing among all half-ton diesel trucks. Now with a 10-year track record, the Ram brand has emerged as a truck powertrain technology leader. Overall, the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel has the outstanding pickup-truck capability and is truly in a class of its own," said Reid Bigland, Head of Ram Brand.
Even if the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel defeats its rivals in torque, towing and price, it has not released the numbers for fuel economy yet. The Silverado 1500 Duramax gets a reported mileage of 23 miles per gallon in the city and 33 in the highway, while the F-150 Power Stroke returns a fuel economy of 22 miles per gallon on the city, 30 on the highway, and combined 25 miles per gallon.
