2020 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 comes with all-wheel-drive
The most famous product-line of German automaker Porsche now has two new additions in its palette- 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 coupe and 2020 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 cabriolet. The latest models add an all-wheel-drive feature to the base model which makes them a perfect sports car for all seasons driving.
The models are powered by a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo flat-six engine producing 379 PS of power and 449 Nm of torque that routes via an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. In the context of performance, Carrera 4 coupe can cover 0 to 96 kmph run in just 4 seconds and with the optional Sports Chrono Package, it can cover that in 3.8 seconds. While Carrera 4 cabriolet hits 96 kmph in 4.2 seconds in the standard version and takes 4.0 seconds with the Sport Chrono package.
All-wheel-drive system of the 911 Carrera 4 includes a liquid-cooled clutch and differential unit for routing power to the front axle. As reported, the added components help improvise the tech's adjustment accuracy for channeling power where it is needed most. Due to this, the vehicle performs better in slippery conditions like rain and snow. Porsche Active Suspension Management is fitted as standard in the vehicle along with electronically variable damping and an option of Normal and Sport modes settings.
Inside the cabin, the vehicle is equipped with a 10.9-inch touchscreen with five toggle-style shortcut buttons, new 911 seats, and a revised Porsche Communication Management infotainment system. In comparison to 4S, the vehicle is different at the rear, the lower power generation version includes two rectangular exhaust outlets and the higher version has oval-shaped pipes. The available staggered wheels 20- and 21-inch are the same as 911 Carrera 4S. And, 13-inch internally ventilated and perforated grey cast-iron brake rotors are standard, with four-piston calipers; while Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes are optional.
The all-wheel-drive 911 Carrera 4 coupe and cabriolet will be available in Porsche showrooms in the United States in the first quarter of 2020. The estimated prices (after the $1,350 destination fee) start at $106,050 for the coupe and $118,850 for the cabriolet.
