2020 Fiat 500x Sport to arrive in America with standard AWD
After Volkswagen decided to stop producing their Beetle, Fiat decided to pull up their socks. Joining the Fiat’s fleet this year will be the updated 2020 Fiat 500x Sport, a rather new face-lift and a much sportier version of Fiat’s little 500.
Equipped with a 1.3-liter turbocharged engine, the 2020 Fiat 500x Sport spec ensemble includes a power output of 177hp and 210 pound-feet of torque. To transmit this power to the rear wheel, a nine-speed automatic transmission is available for assistance. What drove us to the edge was the addition of the All-Wheel-Drive system as standard and rear-wheel can be disengaged if AWD is not required.
The fact this has been labeled as a ‘Sport’ variant is reflected when going through the front fascia, which is more aggressive and sporty. The side stripes separate this 500x with the other 500 and the addition of two chrome exhaust tips is now spicier than ever.
What better way to handle all that 177hp than an 18-inch all-season tire? Though there is an optional Michelin CrossClimate 19-inch set of wheels too. Apart from the AWD, LED headlights and foglights are standard too.
That was the exterior styling, what is more intriguing are the interiors. A blanket of sophisticated leather plummeted with a seven-inch infotainment center is just bringing out the bling of this Italian prophet. To complement this seven-inch display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto has been made standard. While the safety features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-path detection.
2020 Fiat 500x Sport is available in Rovente Red, White, Black, Moda Gray and Italia Blue and what comes as an option is a dark rooftop which will provide this 500 a much meaner look.
The 2020 Fiat 500x Sport price is subjected to a hike of $2305 from the base variant which comes up to around $26,895. The base variant is available for $23,590, a much cheaper option but a rather bland one.
