2020 BMW X6 receives aggressive styling and fresh M50i performance model

It’s more than ten years now, and BMW is still following the trend set by Mercedes-Benz CLS "coupe" by creating the first SUV coupe, X6. Selling over 443,000 units worldwide, X6 is now entering its third generation with fresh design and powertrain updates. It not only looks bigger but also is quicker than before. Along with that, a new M50i model is featured with a robust twin-turbo V-8 engine.

Comparing to the current model, the latest 2020 X6 is over half an inch wider, an inch longer (wheelbase) and 0.7 inches short. It comes with a unique front bumper design and a side vent, which is blended into the front fenders. For the first time on a BMW, a more angular front grille is presented that can be illuminated as an option along with the daytime running lights. 

X6 now flaunts more muscular rear fenders, repositioned license plate, slim LED tail lamps and large darkened diffuser. The diffuser not only gives a sleeker look to the car but also lighten some of the thickness of the rear end. Even after these design elements, it looks a bit chubby, tall, and weird. The interior does not flaunt many changes and looks pretty much similar to that of the X5. The modern dashboard accommodates a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. 

X6 features a massive panoramic roof as standard, which is now 83 percent bigger than the previous generation. In addition to that, an illuminated Sky Lounge glass roof is present as an option. Moving to the powertrain, the base model gets a 335 hp turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six motor. Whereas, the top of the line features a twin-turbo 4.4-litre V-8, which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 523 hp and peak torque of 750 Nm. All the variants will come equipped with eight-speed automatic transmission.
