2019 Dodge Charger and Challenger recalled for faulty wheels

Dodge likes to flex its muscle and there is no way they would let anyone ruin that for them or their customers. It is not easy to manufacture these ultra-sophisticated muscles, but we humans are made up of little mistakes and that is where lies the beauty of being alive.

This time, Dodge made a mistake of putting some wrong set of wheels in their Charger and Challenger. The exact number of vehicles are said to be 173 and this happened between May and September.

FCA has recalled about 111 of these vehicles and plans on replacing these vehicles with a proper set of wheels but will this tarnish the image of Dodge? This remains to be seen and the fact that this happened just at the time of 2019 SEMA is pretty dodgy.

To put it plainly, a few vehicles were fitted with mid shine dark wheels bearing part number 5LD37RXFAA and a specific brake bundle, and that mix doesn't leave enough leeway for the front tires. As indicated by Allpar.com, this was evidently a mix that could be requested, however clearly it was found sometime later to be inconsistent. The review notice doesn't give extra data on the brake bundle and wheel, yet a brisk eBay scan for the previously mentioned part number raises results for Dodge's double five-spoke 20-inch wheel utilized on the Scat Pack.
The fix, as you may picture, is to switch the wheel with one that is good with this particular brake bundle, and fix the alignment, if essential. FCA records the substitution wheel as part number 5M84MALAC, which on eBay raises another 20-inch Scat Pack wheel, however, with a double six-spoked configuration rather than five.
